It was only a matter of time before the supercharged V8-powered beast returned.

Ram kicked off the new year with some of the least surprising news: the Ram 1500 TRX is back from the dead. With the American administration deciding against fuel economy standard progress and Ram already bringing back the Hemi-powered 1500 earlier this year—not to mention the continued existence of the Durango Hellcat—it was simply a question of "when?" for the T-Rex.

Not that this dinosaur is coming back exactly the same as before. It has more power to start, with Ram upgrading the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 to 777 horsepower and 680 pound-feet of torque. Those represent increases of 75 and 30 respectively, but probably more important to fans and Ram is that the new numbers also eclipse those of the Ford F-150 Raptor R, which puts out 720 hp and 640 lb-ft.

Under the skin, the TRX utilizes the latest version of the Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shocks, enabling 13 inches of suspension travel up front and 14 inches out back. A Dana 60 rear axle with an electronic locking differential is standard, and all the power routes through an eight-speed automatic with two-speed transfer case to the full-time four-wheel drive system. Ram is quoting a 3.5-second blast to 60 mph (97 km/h), which is a full second quicker than before.

The TRX is the first model to launch under the revived SRT performance sub-brand, so a smattering of badges dot its exterior and cabin. An available Bloodshot Night Edition package adds a unique two-tone paint treatment outside, while all '27 TRX models roll on 35-inch tires wrapping beadlock-capable 18-inch alloys.

Benefitting from the 2025 mid-cycle facelift, the TRX features a 14.5-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.0-inch head-up display, all running on Ram's newer (and generally excellent) infotainment platform. There are generous lashings of leather and Alcantara all over the cabin too.

The reborn 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX will begin stomping around dealerships this summer, starting at $102,590 including destination in America; Canadian pricing will be announced closer to launch. This undercuts the Raptor R, but nonetheless six-figure trucks are apparently here to stay.

    Glad its back!,

Hopefully those that pay stellantis to play can help Ram offer more discounts on the mainstream Trucks

Or also build Screen Free Mainstream trucks.

I'd hate to see these kind of vehicles fade away, but lets face it, they're basically a toy for the rich.
