Starting in December 2026, the BMW X3 M50 xDrive will feature an upgraded turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine matching the output of the newly revealed M350 xDrive sedan.

The retuned 48-volt mild-hybrid setup output jumps by 45 metric horsepower to 443 hp (rated at 437 hp in U.S. specification). That extra muscle knocks the zero-to-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint down to 4.4 seconds—or 4.1 seconds when using a one-foot rollout method. Crucially for global markets, the extra power comes alongside recalibrations that bring the straight-six into full compliance with Euro 7 emissions standards. The power boost applies to all M50 xDrive models rolling off the line starting in December, regardless of options.

New Black Package Adds Stealth Styling and Alcantara

Alongside the engine bump, BMW is introducing an exclusive Black Package specifically for the X3 M50 xDrive. On the outside, the package fits 22-inch Polygon 1134 M Black alloy wheels, gloss-black M Sport brake calipers with a monochrome badge, and high-gloss black exterior badging accented with silver outlines.

Inside, the cabin gets heavily trimmed in black BMW Individual Alcantara. The suede-like material covers portions of the driver's instrument panel, the central display surround, the wireless charging tray, door cards, and center armrest. The seats are upholstered in a combination of black Alcantara and Veganza synthetic leather with blue stitching and piping, while glass CraftedClarity controls and an Alcantara-embossed M headrest emblem round out the cabin appointments.

Cabin Refinements Across the X3 Lineup

The rest of the X3 lineup also benefits from mid-cycle cabin enhancements starting with December production. Updates include soft-touch PVC dashboard surfaces, updated stitching patterns, ambient lighting inside the center console storage bin and inner door handles, a revised glovebox latch, and stainless-steel cargo sill guards. Models optioned with the M Sport Package add Dark Silver entry sills bearing a black M logo.

Without a dedicated full-fat X3 M currently in the lineup, the updated 437-hp M50 xDrive sits firmly at the top of the range as the fastest combustion-powered X3 you can buy.
