Ford Recalls 548,463 SUVs for Dangerous Chrome
Ford is recalling over half a million 2018-2024 Expedition large SUVs. The recall is for the chrome plating on the center console that may bubble and peel, resulting in sharp edges. No one wants jagged, randomly angled sheetmetal down where they should be resting a hand or arm.
To solve this issue, Ford dealers will inspect and replace the center consoles as necessary, free of charge. Initial letters will be mailed out to affected owners by June 29, 2026. More letters will follow once a complete remedy is ready to go, anticipated in January 2027. In the meantime, customers may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332.
