Yup, Volvo is Ditching Sedans and Wagons in the United States

As we reported back in March, Volvo is abandoning wagons and sedans for America customers, and we’re worse off for it. According to a report in Automotive News, after the 2026 model year, Volvo will be cutting the V60 wagon and its high-riding sibling, the V60 Cross Country from the brand’s lineup. The lifted V90 Cross Country will also be put out to pasture along with the S90 sedan.

The 90 series vehicles especially hurt as they were some of the most underrated premium vehicles on the market. Sadly though, not many consumers were buying them. America’s love for SUVs, along with the volatile market fuelled by impulsive tariffs that change daily, it seems Volvo is succumbing to the current industry landscape.

It’s not just the cars with internal combustions either on the chopping block, the funky EC40 is also slated to vanish. After the 2026 model year it appears Volvo will be an all-SUV brand as the manufacturer’s lineup of XC utility vehicles and EX all-electric SUVs will be all that remains.

Volvo has been dead to me many times over now. For one, when they were bought by the Chinese, and then when they speed limited their cars to 112mph. It's really sad what happened to them, but their glory days as an enthusiasts vehicle are long gone now.

If Volvo does that, I´ll buy nothing from them. Not everybody like SUV´s or crossovers or is willing to buy one no matter what.
