The 2018 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is now available at Hyundai dealerships in the U.S.

The words “Hybrid Sedan Comparison” can barely be said without a pained yawn. As Managing Editor Jodi Lai and I discussed the two cars in the office, none of the other AutoGuide.com staff could be bothered to pipe in.

The 2016 Green Car of the Year finalists have been announced and not a single diesel vehicle has been nominated this year.

The 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid will be priced from $26,825 including destination.

Future Hyundai hybrid models will benefit from a new six-speed transmission.

Hyundai has just released pricing and details for its 2013 Sonata midsize sedan, giving the car a larger lithium-polymer battery pack for added mpg, and lopping $200 of its price tag compared to the 2012 model. 

When we first reviewed the 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid we noted it was taking direct aim at the Toyota Camry Hybrid and Ford Fusion Hybrid, the two most popular mid-size hybrid sedans, and said, “Keep your eye on the new kid on the hybrid block.”

Hyundai appears to be strengthening its position in the hybrid marketplace, announcing that the Sonata Hybrid will get a lifetime warranty on its battery pack.

Hyundai is slightly increasing the price for their 2012 Sonata Hybrid, bumping the MSRP by $55 to $26,610 compared to the 2011 model. Also new for the 2012 model will be a Leather Package, priced at $1,500, offering leather seats, steering wheel and shift knob.

Hyundai has just released the above teaser image of the Sonata Hybrid, which will get its world premiere at the New York Auto Show next week. The new 2011 Sonata ( reviewed here) already has quite the sleek profile, but this hybrid version aims to give an aggressive and sporty appeal to cars in the hybrid segment.
