What to Expect at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show
The Geneva Motor Show is one of the biggest automotive events of the year, with many of the world’s automakers selecting the Swiss event to debut their most interesting, luxurious, and high-performance models.

The 2019 Geneva Motor Show will be no different, with a ton of production cars, concepts, supercars, and other exciting products expected to make their debut at Geneva’s Palexpo convention center. We’ve compiled a list of just about everything that is scheduled to debut at the show, so keep on scrolling to get all the details before the festivities kick off on March 7.
Here are all the debuts to expect at this year’s show, in alphabetical order.
Alfa Romeo
Alfa Romeo has confirmed it will debut a new production model at the show, which is believed to be a compact crossover that will slot beneath the Stelvio. Due to its reportedly small size, the crossover will likely be powered by a four-cylinder engine — possibly Alfa’s 2.0-liter turbo. A plug-in hybrid is also said to be on the table, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
Aston Martin
Aston Martin is expected to debut its new 003 supercar in Geneva, which it recently teased with a shadowy image of the vehicle’s rear end. The 003 is expected to be more suitable for road use than the hardcore Aston Martin Valkyrie, although details are still rather scarce. It’s unclear if it will debut in production form in Geneva this year, or if we’ll only be seeing a concept.
Audi
Audi will debut the new Q4 E-Tron Concept in Geneva, which it teased with a design sketch this week. The Q4 E-Tron will be based on VW Group’s new MEB electric vehicle platform, which will also underpin the new VW ID EV. Unlike the VW ID, though, we may actually get the production version of the Q4 E-Tron in North America.
Bentley
Bentley will debut a throwback style special edition model based on the new Continental GT in Geneva. The automaker teased the vehicle with a photo of a painted number nine on the Continental GT’s grille in January and indicated that it would be inspired by the supercharged No. 9 1930 Bentley ‘Blower’ race car that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Expect power and suspension upgrades and some cosmetic changes, too.
BMW
BMW will debut a number of cars with its fourth-generation plug-in hybrid electric drive system. This will be a crucial rollout for BMW, with many automakers planning to steer former diesel customers into new models with mild hybrid, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains. New plug-in vehicles to be shown include the 330e, X5 xDrive45e and 745e and 745Le xDrive.
Bugatti
While not a completely new model, Bugatti will show the Chiron Sport 110 Ans at the show, a special edition version of the Chiron with French flag motifs and other exclusive equipment. It was built to celebrate the Bugatti brand’s 110th anniversary.
Ginetta
You’ve probably never even heard of British race car manufacturer Ginetta, but you will have after the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The company is planning to debut an Aston Martin-baiting supercar at the show, which it released a teaser of last month.
Honda
Honda will debut a prototype version of the new Urban EV, which we believe will be a new take on the Urban EV Concept that is closer to production but maybe not quite ready for public consumption. The Urban EV is a tiny electric hatch with approachable looks and sporty square stance, but it won’t be arriving in North America, to our knowledge.

Kia
Kia teased a new electric concept for Geneva this week. Little is known about the concept, but it was designed at its German design studio and is described as “a visual embodiment of the company’s desire to move forward in the exciting world of electrification.”
Lagonda
Aston Martin’s newly minted luxury sub-brand Lagonda will show off its new All-terrain Concept in Geneva. The concept will preview the first Lagonda production model, expected to arrive in 2021.
Lamborghini
The new Huracan Evo will be shown in Geneva, which is an evolved version of the Huracan with a 640-hp version of the Huracan’s 5.2-liter V10 engine, a new rear-wheel steering system, improved exterior looks and more.
Lexus
While Lexus won’t be showing anything new in Geneva, the show will usher in the European debut of the LC Convertible Concept and RC F Track Edition, which were first shown at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show in early January.
Mazda
Mazda will show the new CX-4 in Geneva, which it has teased with a dark image of the new coupe crossover’s rear end and taillights. It will slot in between the CX-3 and CX-5 in the automaker’s lineup and should offer a sportier driving experience in comparison to the family-friendly CX-5. The CX-4 will also be sold in Canada and the U.S.
McLaren
We’ve already seen the new 720S Spider, but Geneva will mark its first official appearance in the flesh at a major international auto show. The automaker also showed a special 600LT done up by McLaren Special Operations that it will bring to the show, which has unique green accents and green brake calipers.
Mercedes-Benz
Mercedes-Benz will debut two cars in Geneva: the new CLA Shooting Brake, which we probably won’t receive here in North America, and the facelifted and updated GLC crossover, which we definitely will be receiving. The SLC 300 and SLC 43 AMG Final Edition models will probably be present as well.
Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi will debut a new concept crossover called the Engelberg Tourer Concept, which it hinted at with a dark teaser image released last month. Expected to take after the E-Evolution Concept, the Engelberg Tourer is a sign of what’s to come from the Mitsubishi brand and its electric vehicle program. It will also debut an updated Outlander Sport — otherwise known as the RVR or ASX in Europe and other markets.
Morgan
Storied British sports car manufacturer Morgan will debut its sportiest car yet in Geneva, which is only being referred to as the ‘widebody sports car’ for now.
Nissan
Nissan will celebrate the reveal of the new IMQ concept crossover in Geneva, described as “an all-new vehicle that embodies the future of Nissan Intelligent Mobility and gives a sneak peek as to what might be in your future driveway.”
AutoGuide uncovered two Nissan trademark applications last year for IMS and IMS. The IMS concept subsequently debuted in Detroit and now we’re seeing the IMQ debut in Geneva! You heard it here first, folks.
Pininfarina
Italian styling house Pininfarina will debut its new Batista electric hypercar in Geneva, which is expected to go on sale in 2020. Expect Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren-beating performance thanks to pure electric powertrain developed by Rimac.
Polestar
The Polestar 2 sedan will debut in Geneva — a new pure electric sedan from the Geely/Volvo EV offshoot brand that will put the Tesla Model 3 directly in its crosshairs. Exciting!
Porsche
Porsche never skimps on new product at Geneva. For 2019, it’s bringing along the new 992 911 Cabriolet, along with the lighter and simpler Cayman T and Boxster T.
Subaru
Subaru is showing off a new concept car called the VIZIV Adrenaline in Geneva, which it has already released a teaser image for. It is also expected to detail its new line of mild hybrid ‘e-Boxer’ powertrains. Official details are scarce, but rumors allege the new powertrain will consist of a 2.0-liter flat-four boxer engine with a small electric motor and Subaru’s Lineartronic CVT.
Toyota
Toyota will probably show off the new Supra, of course, but it could have a Supra or GR performance brand surprise to attract show-goers to its booth as well.

Volkswagen
In addition to showing off the handsome new Passat, VW will also debut a new fully electric ID beach buggy concept at the show and the T-Roc R performance crossover. It’s not clear if the buggy, which is pictured in the teaser image above, will ever reach production — but that would be an EV we could certainly see ourselves in. The T-Roc R certainly looks cool judging by the preview sketch, but it won’t be sold in Canada or the US.
