Both Subaru and General Motors have announced more vehicles involved in the Takata Airbag Recall.

GM is calling back 374,715 heavy-duty Chevy Silverados and GMC Sierras, both from the 2007 and 2008 year to fix the faulty airbags.

Subaru has announced a recall for 60,000 vehicles fitted with the bad airbags, encompassing the 2004-2005 Impreza and the 2005 Saab 9-2x wagon.

Airbag supplier Takata recently admitted that its airbags were defective, beginning a nationwide recall for 33.8 million vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the airbags can deploy with too much force, causing the inflator to explode and hurl metal shrapnel at the occupants. Eleven different automakers are involved in the massive recall for the defective airbags which are responsible for at least six deaths. Many of the cars fit with Takata airbags have still not been identified.

Both GM and Subaru say no injuries or fatalities have occurred in their vehicles as a result of this problem. GM spokesman Alan Adler says that the company does not expect to have any more Takata airbag recalls.
