Top 10 Best Trucks of the 2026 Detroit Auto Show
The United States loves pickup trucks. Dominating the sales charts for decades, these do-it-all, open bed vehicles are deeply ingrained in the consciousness of America. It's no surprise pickup trucks are well represented at the 2026 Detroit Auto Show, spanning multiple eras, shapes, sizes, and states of customization. Although it was hard to limit this list to just 10, below we have picked our top 10 favorite trucks of the 2026 Detroit Auto Show, listed in no particular order.
Ram 1500 DC650 (Lowered)
A collaboration between Fox Factory Vehicles and Direct Connection, the Ram 1500 DC650, or Lowered, is a street truck packing a supercharged 650 hp Hemi V8. More than just power, it has all the other goodies needed to make this a proper street truck. Think of it as a spiritial successor to the SRT-10.
1987 Chevrolet Silverado C/K
Staring in the movie The Fall Guy, this jacked up 1987 Chevrolet Silverado C/K is everything radical about the 1980s. Pristine, brown, and square, the regular cab truck is American personified.
AEV FXL Ford Super Duty
Overlanding is all the rage right now and the quickly growing hobby is on full display at the Detroit Auto Show. One of the standout vehicles is the AEV FXL. Based on the Ford Super Duty pickup, it takes the big work truck and makes it look as tough as it is. But it's not just looks, this one highly capable off-road warrior.
Chevrolet Custom Pickup
This classic Chevy truck is slammed to the ground, teal, and features awesome patina. We don't know much about this truck, but we sure would love to cruise down Woodward in it.
Ram NASCAR Race Truck
Ram is returning to the NASCAR Truck Series this year and the brand brought along one of the race trucks. Having another manufacturer back in the series will only help make the 2026 season more interesting.
AEV GM Defence Chevrolet Silverado HD ZR2 Bison
Back at the AEV booth resides another mean-looking off-road heavy duty truck, the GM Defence. Based on the Chevrolet Silverado HD ZR2 Bison, AEV takes an already very capable off-road truck and raises the bar further.
1972 GMC K1500 Restomod
The Vanguard booth at the 2026 Detroit Auto Show features a lot of restomod classics including this 1972 GMC K1500. What we like most about this truck is how it's been modernized, but still retains plenty of that classic K-Series look to it.
GM Infantry Squad Vehicle
The GM Infantry Squad Vehicle is a great and capable tool for the United States Army. We can't help but imagine how great these will be for off-road enthusiasts once they become decommissioned.
Jeep Gladiator Overlander
What makes the Jeep Gladiator look less awkward and cooler? An enclosed box over the bed. It's like an Jeep Wrangler XL.
2026 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison 1776 Edition
Not all pickup trucks need to be aftermarket modified to be trail ready. Every major manufacturer now includes some level off-road performance and we are all better for it. Take this 2026 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison 1776 Edition for example. Rugged and backed by a factory warranty.
