These Are The 10 Coupes People Still Love
The Lexus LC 500 and Nissan Z fall out of the latest installment of our monthly top 10 most-researched coupes list. Find out what other changes went on below.

10. Toyota GR Supra
The Supra may be living on borrowed time – 2026 will be the German-bred, Japanese-badged car’s final year on the market – and it hasn’t been on our list of the most-researched coupes for the past two months. But it’s back for October, landing in 10th place. Will there be another Supra in the future? We wouldn’t bet against it.
9. Toyota GR86
The second Toyota in a row (and final Toyota on our list) is the GR86. It was in 10th place last month, so it nudged up slightly in October. Traditional sports cars with two doors, a front engine and rear-wheel drive are few and far between these days, and the GR86 is a good one. Its sibling from Subaru, the BRZ, failed to crack the top 10 in October.
8. Porsche 911
The Porsche 911 has been a mainstay on our list of the most-researched coupes all year, and it finds itself in eighth place on this latest version. The quintessential German sports car has been around in various permutations since 1964 and it hasn’t stopped gaining fans and followers since.
7. Mercedes-Benz AMG GT
Another German coupe – in fact, one that was designed to compete directly with the Porsche 911 that we saw in eighth place on this list – sits in seventh. The AMG-badged Mercedes-Benz proudly wears a GT badge. And like all good grand touring coupes, it offers big power and long legs to crank out the miles at speed.
6. Audi A5
Well, there used to be a traditional two-door Audi A5 coupe. These days, the A5 is offered solely as a four-door, but if you squint and look at it side-eyed, it kinda sorta looks coupeish due to its rakish roof shape. In any case, the A5 snuck on this month’s list in sixth place. If you’re looking for a real German coupe, keep scrolling.
5. BMW 2 Series
The next two cars on the list are indeed bonafide coupes. The BMW 2 Series finds itself in fifth place on October’s rankings, just behind its slightly larger sibling. This entry is specifically for the 230i, M240i and M2 editions, not the similarly named 2 Series Gran Coupe (nevermind that the four-door version has “coupe” in its name).
4. BMW 4 Series
The BMW 4 Series comes next, and even though it wears a numerically higher number on its badge, it’s best to think of the 4 Series as the two-door version of the long-running and highly popular BMW 3 Series sedan. The 4 Series is offered in 430i and M440i trim with both rear- or all-wheel drive, and the fire-breathing M4 sits just above.
3. Chevrolet Corvette
We saw the Porsche 911 on the list in eighth place, and now we see its traditional American rival from Chevrolet. The red-blooded Chevrolet Corvette has been around even longer than the 911, but it didn’t exactly start out as a high-performance machine. It wouldn’t take long for the ‘Vette to earn its V8-powered muscle car stripes, and today it is quite possibly the biggest performance bargain in the world.
2. Dodge Charger
The Dodge Charger carries another long-serving nameplate, but it has gone through many different variations over the years. It was originally intended to be a semi-luxurious personal coupe, but as the 1960s progressed it turned into a proper muscle car. The Charger took a front-wheel-drive swerve in the 1980s before reestablishing itself as a muscular sedan, and for the 2026 model year, the Dodge Charger is offered in two- and four-door styles with fully electric or gasoline-fueled powertrain options.
1. Ford Mustang
As always, the Ford Mustang occupies the top spot on our list of the most-researched coupes in America. Like the Porsche 911, the world was first introduced to Ford’s pony car in 1964. And unlike rivals like the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger (though as you saw earlier on the list, the Dodge Charger is now offered as a coupe), the Mustang is still going strong with its V8 engine blaring underhood.
