While it appears to be a traditional three-pedal setup, this limited-edition grand tourer uses advanced drive-by-wire technology to simulate a classic shifting experience. The centerpiece of the 12Cilindri Manuale cabin is the open-gate shifter mechanism rising from the carbon fiber center console. Ferrari engineered this physical H-pattern selector to replicate the tactile feedback and distinct metal-on-metal clicking sound of its classic V12 models, like the 599 GTB Fiorano. However, there are no shift cables underneath; a network of sensors and electronic actuators sends your inputs directly to the car's computer.

The driver's footwell reveals a fully functioning clutch pedal sitting alongside the brake and throttle. Ferrari integrated a precise position sensor into the pedal assembly to mirror natural clutch bite and release points. The electronic software is programmed to allow the 819-horsepower engine to stall if the driver mismanages the clutch-to-throttle transition, preserving the learning curve of a mechanical car.

Under the sheet metal, the simulator architecture adds just 11 pounds to the vehicle's total curb weight. Power is derived from the same naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine, which screams all the way to a 9,500-rpm redline.

The "Manuale by Wire" system maps an H-pattern layout across the transmission's first six gear ratios. Because the physical shifter only accounts for six forward gears and reverse, drivers must press a console-mounted button to transition into fully automatic mode to access seventh and eighth gears for highway cruising.

There are no steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles, a mandatory omission for the Manuale trim. Ferrari developed this specialized variant specifically for a subset of collectors who demanded a more involved driving process. Production is strictly capped at 1,499 units worldwide, with pricing starting at roughly $675,000.
