Owners Of These 10 Car Brands Have The Highest DUI Rates
A recent study by LendingTree looked at the DUI rates by vehicle brand in America’s 50 largest cities, and it reveals some compelling — and, for some brands, uncomfortable — patterns.
At the top of the DUI-rate rankings sits BMW, with an average of 3.09 DUIs per 1,000 drivers. Not far behind is Ram, clocking in at 3.00 per 1,000. Interestingly, four of the top five makes with the highest DUI rates are considered luxury brands—is there a correlation between affluence and a willingness to test legal limits? Then again, both Land Rover and Lincoln share one of the lowest DUI rates, showing that not all premium vehicle owners behave the same way.
