Mercedes-AMG GT63 Coupe Road Test Review: All The Details
The second-generation Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe is here, and it's clear that AMG had its sights set on creating a true Porsche 911 rival. With its front-engine layout, striking design, and luxurious interior, the new GT is undoubtedly more polished and accessible than its predecessor. However, in the process, it seems to have traded some of the raw, visceral charm that defined the first generation.
Driving dynamics have shifted toward a more refined experience. The new GT still delivers plenty of performance, but it does so with less drama. While that makes it easier to live with day-to-day, some enthusiasts might miss the wild streak that made the original car stand out in a crowded field.
Ultimately, the second-gen AMG GT Coupe is a more mature and versatile machine, designed to lure in buyers who might otherwise look to Porsche. But for those who loved the unapologetic personality of the original, this evolution might feel like a step toward the mainstream.
