The 10 Coupes Captivating Consumers Right Now
Muscular coupes continue to generate lots of attention online with American shoppers, but more exotic European and Japanese machines make up the bulk of this list.

This list was compiled using data provided exclusively to AutoGuide via AutoFinder.com — an automotive marketplace featuring over 3 million new and used vehicle listings, connecting consumers with top dealerships nationwide to easily find and secure the best deal on a car, truck, or SUV.
1. Ford Mustang
It’s becoming a broken record. For the fourth straight month, the Ford Mustang leads this list of the coupes that get the most attention online. As we’ve said in the past, the fact that the Mustang has been around for so long is certainly a driver of its popularity with online researchers, and the fact that Ford is staying the course while some of its competitors abandon the segment is a major bonus for the Blue Oval.
2. Dodge Charger
The Dodge Charger isn’t the same car today as you may remember. It started as a personal luxury coupe in the muscle car’s glory days before disappearing, morphing into a front-wheel-drive hatchback and most recently as a rear-wheel-drive performance sedan. Today’s Charger replaces its Hemi V8 engine with electric motors and is offered in both two- and four-door versions. Expect gas-burning options to reappear shortly to join the electric machine.
3. BMW 2 Series
The top two most-researched coupes last month were American. Things change quickly from here, starting with the BMW 2 Series in third place. This German machine comes in two forms; the one we’re focused on is the 2 Series Coupe, which has, as its name implies, two doors and rear-wheel drive. There’s a front-wheel-drive 2 Series as well that has four doors, but it’s not nearly as fun to drive as the coupe, which, in M240i xDrive form, accelerates from 0-60 in just 4.1 seconds.
4. Toyota GR86
Two Americans, a German and now a Japanese coupe in fourth. The Toyota GR86 is a traditional sports car with a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive design that looks and drives like a hoot. Keep reading and you’ll find its sibling a few entries from now.
5. Mercedes-Benz AMG GT
The next German machine on the list falls into fifth place on the list of the most-researched coupes in America. It’s been around in its current form since 2015, which makes it quite old in comparison to most new cars sold in 2025. Clearly, though, the AMG GT remains quite popular with potential buyers who use the internet to research their potential purchases.
6. Porsche 911
So far, May’s list has followed April’s list to a tee. That’s about to change, but for the second month in a row, the Porsche 911 slots into sixth place on the list of the most-researched coupes in America. The fact that the 911 has been on sale since the 1960s certainly earns it some extra credit from buyers, and its rear-engine design remains unique in the world of high-performance sports cars.
7. Toyota GR Supra
The Toyota GR Supra jumps two spots in May to find itself in seventh place on the most-researched coupes list. It won’t be around for much longer, having marked the end of its run with a MKV Final Edition model for 2026. It’s powered by a BMW-built turbocharged inline-six engine that delivers 382 horsepower to the rear wheels.
8. Lexus LC 500
The car that the Toyota Supra bumped from seventh last month landed in eighth place in May. The Lexus LC coupe is offered in both hybrid and V8-powered forms, and it’s the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 version that gets more attention online. And for good reason. As pleasant as the fuel-saving hybrid may be, the sounds coming from the big V8 can’t be beat.
9. Lexus RC F
Another Lexus coupe that’s powered by a 5.0-liter V8 slots into ninth pace on the list from May. The high-powered RC F gained one spot on this most recent list, having occupied 10th place in April. Sadly, the RC F is on its way out after the current model year.
10. Subaru BRZ
See, we told you it was coming. The Subaru BRZ is basically identical to the Toyota GR86 under the skin. Its 2.0-liter four-cylinder beating heart comes from Subaru, and it sends its 228-horsepower output to the rear wheels in classic sports car fashion.
