10 Coupes People Want To Buy Before Summer
The list of the most-researched two-door cars in America represents a mix of sporty yet attainable mass-market cars, up-market luxury coupes, and a couple of truly world-class, high-performance machines.
America is a melting pot in more ways than one, it would seem.

10 Most Researched Coupes: March 2025
This list was compiled using data provided exclusively to AutoGuide via AutoFinder.com — an automotive marketplace featuring over 3 million new and used vehicle listings, connecting consumers with top dealerships nationwide to easily find and secure the best deal on a car, truck, or SUV.
1. Ford Mustang
America’s only remaining traditional muscle car unsurprisingly takes the top spot on the list of the most-researched coupes in March. With the demise of the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger, the original pony car stands alone as the de facto king of the hill on both the sales floor and the internet. It no longer sets sales records like it did back in the mid 1960s, but its long-term popularity lands it atop the list of coupes for sale in America.
2. Dodge Charger
The Dodge Charger started its life as an upscale muscle coupe before turning into a front-wheel-drive hatchback and then serving as Dodge’s overpowered family sedan. It’s gone full circle, returning to its roots as a two-door coupe for 2025 (a four-door is on the way, too), but boy is it different than it was in the 1960s. Now powered by an electric motor and a massive battery pack, with a twin-turbo inline-six version on deck as well, there’s (currently) no Hemi in sight. Like it or loathe it, it’s clearly popular with new-car researchers.
3. Toyota GR86
Ford and Dodge took the first two positions in February and March, but Toyota snuck into third place from fourth on this latest list with its GR86 sport coupe. Toyota’s slinky machine is old enough that it was initially badged as a Scion back when it debuted in 2013 before being brought into the Toyota fold when the youthful experiment was 86’d (see what we did there?) in 2017. It’s not the same car today as it was way back then, but it remains just as fun to drive as it always has.
4. BMW 2-Series
The car that the Toyota GR86 nudged down to fourth is the BMW 2 Series. It’s likely that the German car’s popularity online is bolstered by the fact that a very different small sedan joins the coupe under the same 2-badged umbrella. Last month, the 2 Series was joined by the high-performance M2, but the M-badged variant fell off the list of the most-researched coupes last month.
5. Porsche 911
Though the two entries ahead of it swapped positions, the Porsche 911 remains the fifth most-researched coupe on this latest list. The rear-engined German stands out as the quintessential European sports car and is now in its eighth generation. Each version has upped the performance quotient, and the latest 911 is one of the most rewarding cars to drive in the world.
6. Mercedes-AMG GT
The Mercedes-AMG GT is another carryover from last month’s list of the most-researched coupes. It lands on the list in sixth place, one spot behind its primary competitor from Porsche. It’s been on the market since the 2015 model year, and a decade is a long time in the world of high-performance luxury coupes.
7. Subaru BRZ
In seventh place sits the Subaru BRZ. It’s mechanically the same car as the Toyota GR86, powered by a boxer-shaped four-cylinder engine that’s pure Subaru. We can’t say why the GR86 is more popular with the online community that researches cars, except to acknowledge that Toyota sells a lot more vehicles around the globe than Subaru.
8. Lexus LC 500
The Lexus LC carries over from last month’s list of the most-researched coupes in America. It’s drop-dead gorgeous, which certainly helps generate interest from the online researching community, and it’s powered by a 5.0-liter V8 known both for reliability and a soul-stirring exhaust note.
9. Lexus RC F
A surprise! The second Lexus in a row on the most-researched coupes list is one that we won’t be seeing much longer. This will be the final year that Lexus sells its RC coupe here in any form, and we’ll be sad to see the F-badged variant go. It may be a little long in the tooth these days, but it remains an attractive and reliable entrant into the luxury coupe segment.
10. Toyota GR Supra
The Toyota GR Supra takes the final spot on our list of the most-researched coupes in March 2025. While it carries a classic Toyota name, most of its engineering under the skin was done by BMW, including the 382-horsepower inline-six engine. The addition of an available manual transmission likely raised interest in the quick little coupe, though production is slated to come to an end in 2026.
